Quiz 1

During the last two weeks, we have covered vocabulary, expressions and phrases. On Friday, we will have a quiz covering vocabulary. The quiz will have two parts: ten written questions and five listening questions. Please use this list for review. Also, the cartoon clip (under Tab 12, first clip) used during class is a good source for listening and pronunciation practice.

During the class, we watched a short cartoon. It is a dialogue between a boy and a girl. The following questions are written on the white board. Please copy them on a character worksheet and then answer these questions.

Countries

During the class today, we discussed countries and practiced writing them. At the end, four sentences were posted as a translation homework. See this document for the four sentences. Complete this sheet and bring it to the next class with the worksheet on country names. Note the characters you would like more practice for–both reading and writing,  and bring your questions to the next class. Have a nice weekend!

Around the school…

How are you ?

For this class, we greeted each other in Chinese and learned numbers. For your note book, please make sure you have written down the following:

1.  The four symbols for tones

First tone : –               Second tone: /                Third tone: v            Fourth tone: \

2.  “How to say…?” = 怎么说…?= zen3 me shuo

3. For Block D, please make sure the four directions are in your notebook: 上 (shang4) up, 下 (xia4) down, 左 (zuo3) left, 右 (you4) right.

We will look at other ways to greet people in our next class!

The Frog Rhyme

We have read and practiced writing the Frog rhyme in class. Please use the character worksheet and write out the rhyme once for the next class. You will only need to write the three lines with two frogs.

For Block H, please write the Frog rhyme from one to three frogs. If you have completed one part of this assignment, you only have to finish the ones you have not done. The five country names for your notebooks are 法国, 中国, 英国, 韩国 and 日本. Have a nice weekend!
